Amba Shepherd - Smells Like Teen Spirit (Acoustic Mix)
Original Mix 44.1kHz WAV file [Superrlativ]
For the first time Australian based painter Vanessa Stockard has collaborated with internationally acclaimed vocalist and composer Amba Shepherd.
Shepherd’s release of ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ is a haunting acoustic cover of the original Nirvana masterpiece. Stockard’s pop, yet dark imagery, proved the perfect visual to compliment Shepherd’s beautifully melodious take on Kurt Cobain’s 90’s smash hit by the same name.
Both artists have the gift of creating emotive beauty and their collaboration was a natural fit. Stockard titled the piece ‘Prozac Donut’ and it depicts a contrasting red and blue iced donut .. on fire, a surreal and disturbingly lurid icon gleaming in the dark.
The implied 90’s popular anti-depressant of choice, Prozac, a blue and red capsule melds effortlessly in to a fast food favourite, the fire above symbolizing destruction and recklessness.
Shepherds angelic voice contrasts with the lyrics, forming an eerie and heart breaking combination, a remake worthy and powerful by its own merit.

In 2013 Mikkas & Amba Shepherd released their ground-breaking progressive electro work 'Finally' on Strictly Rhythm to critical acclaim. The track was heavily championed at major festivals around the world in particular by Porter Robinson, Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto and Dash Berlin. This year (2020) Amba and Mikkas strip back the music to the bare essentials and showcase the song in it’s raw beauty. We have no doubt the fans of this truly epic masterpiece will embrace this new ambient acoustic mix with open arms.
After her 2019 smash collaboration DYNAMITE with Nicky Romero & Mike Williams, Amba Shepherd kicks off 2020 with much anticipated electro house vibe-maker track called Over The Sun with new comer NØ SIGNE. Over The Sun is ready to light up your playlists with feel good vibes.

Come Closer was written by Amba Shepherd and Philippe-Marc Anquetil (Ruel, Little Mix) at Phrased Differently Studio's in London; and co-produced by Amba Shepherd & Australian rising star producer JaySounds. It's a feel-good smooth tune about caving into love and opening up, showcasing a more pop interpretation of Amba's well-known lush voice, together with fresh indie electronic pop beats in the style of Hayden James & Set Mo. Teddy Cream remix brings a high energy pop dance mix.

Welcome the weekend with a blissful escape, let Amba Shepherd whisk you away with her new double sided single “Fly Away”. Featuring two versions of the song “Uluwatu Sunrise Mix” and “Sunset Bros Remix”, the electronic music scene’s reigning songstress shines on the new release, highlighting her signature serene and velvety voice amid downtempo indie-chill background beats. The harder Sunset Bros Remix is bound to enchant Amba’s die-hard trance fans. The combination creates a sonic aesthetic that is both thoughtful and dream-worthy, with poignant lyrics that speak of freedom and unrestrained love. “The song is about the feeling of freedom that comes from being surrounded by people who accept us exactly as we are,” says Amba.
